Winnipeg Humane Society
The first animal shelter in Canada to achieve a LEED® certification of any kind. Glulam helped to ensure both humans and animals would feel at home and welcome within the building.
This project was the first animal shelter in Canada to achieve a LEED® certification. The materials, which were entirely local, natural, and recycled, helped to create a calming atmosphere for both humans and animals, while integrating with the forested setting. Glulam was chosen as it provided economic advantages over other framing methods. In addition, Glulam contributed to the creation of the atmosphere in the building.
