Tseshaht Tribal Multiplex
This unique nature-inspired heavy timber structure appears at times to be floating above the natural landscape.
Located just outside Port Alberni, the Tseshaht Tribal Multiplex and Health Centre's design elevates the heavy-timber structure, following the contours and outlines of the rocky bluff below. This facility fulfills community, health, cultural, commercial, and social functions.
Wood was a natural choice in the construction of this culturally significant Tseshaht First Nation facility. The design features Glulam columns and beams throughout, allowing natural light to shine through the exposed wood, creating a warm, luminous ambiance.
